Scientific Activity in 2007
During this year Dr. Kirnasovsky worked on research of two new models of tumour growth within the frameworks of the European Union NEST project “Developing a virtual and molecular control board for diverting cancer stem cell to non-malignance”. One model studies method of distrupting cancer stem cell proliferation by describing stem cells as functional units and cellular level (with Yuri Kogan, Dr. Vladimir Vainstein and Prof. Zvia Agur), while the other mathematically describes the intracellular pathways by which cancer stem cell homeostasis can be disrupted (with Genady Vasserman, Dr. Elina Aizenshtein, Dr. Lilach Tencer and Prof. Zvia Fgur). The second model also was applied to an analysis of the behaviour of a single cell, having a constant microenvironment (with Yuri Kogan and Zvia Agur).
Work program for 2008 During the coming year, Oleg will be engaged in constructing and analyzing new models of cancer stem cells and methods for their elimination. He will be involved in projects, aimed at developing a virtual and molecular control board for diverting cancer stem cell to non-malignance (with Dr. Lilach Tencer and Prof. Zvia Agur), at research of tissue engineering (with Dr. Lilach Tencer and Prof Zvia Agur) at and at research of the effect of cancer of monoclonal antibody drugs (with Dr. Vladimir Vainstein, Dr. Eva Jager and Yuri Kogan under supervision of Zvia Agur).
